Ultimate Ranks

Privacy policy

What we collect and what we don't.

The app

Ultimate Ranks stores the tracking data you create — statuses, ratings, and progress — on your device through Apple's SwiftData, and syncs it to your private iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit so it's available across your Apple devices.

That data is scoped to your Apple ID and visible only to you. It is not shared with us, sold to anyone, or used for advertising. There are no accounts to create, no sign-in, and we never ask for your name or email address inside the app. CloudKit is Apple's infrastructure; data there is governed by Apple's privacy policy and we have no access to it.

Purchases go through the App Store. Apple processes payment — we never see or store payment information.

What the app doesn't do

  • No analytics in the app
  • No crash reporting to third-party services
  • No advertising identifiers
  • No tracking pixels or beacons
  • No location data
  • No access to contacts, photos, or anything else on your device
  • No third-party SDKs bundled into the app

Website analytics

This website uses Umami, a cookieless analytics tool that doesn't collect personal information. We see page view counts, not individual visitors.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is sent to Buttondown, which handles delivery and storage. We use it to send newsletter updates — that's it. Unsubscribe any time via the link in every email. See Buttondown's privacy policy for how they handle your data.

Cookies and tracking

This website is static. No cookies, no local storage, no session tracking, no pixels, no ads.

Deleting your data

  • Delete the app from your device to remove local copies.
  • Open Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, find Ultimate Ranks, and delete its data.

How long we keep data

We keep data only as long as you choose. Tracking data in your iCloud account stays there until you delete it through Apple's iCloud settings. Newsletter subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe or the list is retired. Website analytics retention follows Umami's defaults and isn't linked to any identifier we can look you up by.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), and similar laws elsewhere — you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing.

Most of those rights are already built into how the app works: your tracking data lives in your own private iCloud account, which you control directly through Apple. You can access, edit, or delete it at any time through the app or your iCloud settings. For newsletter email addresses, the unsubscribe link in any newsletter removes you from the list. If you want to exercise a specific right or have a complaint, email us at support@ultimateranks.com.

Children's privacy

The app doesn't ask for or collect personally identifying information from anyone, including children under 13. Tracking data stored in iCloud is visible only to the user it belongs to.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update it here with a new "last updated" date.
